The 2nd (and final) of my Langstrom hives has not been showing typical Springtime activity. A casual peek last week still showed inhabitants, but today's inspection showed the thing completely vacated save for two stranglers.
Unlike Hive #1, which froze to death, Hive #3 seems to have just taken the last few hundred bees and left. There was plenty of honey stored up, and there were not a lot of bodies on the landing board.
Inside, I didn't see too much indication of pest infestation, either.
So now I'm down to the top-bar hive, which by all indications is doing nicely.
And there - I've jinxed it.
